Applications
 
     There are two kinds of boron’s natural mixture in Nature; they are boron-10 and boron-11. The boron-10 captures thermal neutron is around 80,000times than boron-11 does. It is used broadly in nuclear energy, national defense industry, medicine, science and technology areas, because the enriched boron-10 isotopes are good neutron absorbers.

     Boron-10 isotope products are mainly used as neutron absorbers or shield materials of nuclear reactor.
 
---Application in military industry
     Using boron-10 in nuclear power-driven vessels could significantly reduce shipping load, improving its combat capability, such as use for nuclear submarines and nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. To melt boron-10 isotope into the metal materials through melting technology, it can produce boron-10 isotope alloy steel in great light weight. Not only have provided long-term nuclear fuel to military equipment, but also assured personal safety as well as improved military operation performance.
     At the same time, it can also used in other areas, such as clothing, glass industry as radiation protection.
 
---Application in medicine field
     To use Boron-10 compounds injection, it enters into the human body through blood circulation, because of the fusion characteristics between Boron-10 compounds and brain tumor, it only enriched in tumors. Due to the effect of blood-brain barrier, Boron-10 rarely or even cannot enter into the normal brain tissues. When a neutron beams illuminate cancer, interaction between 10B(n, α) and 7Li can generate high density of α particle and  7Li core, they can kill the tumor cells≤10μ,it is the best way to treat cancers than any others do by far and the radiation therapy in the scale of cells (micron-grade) to realize strong target-based, high density treatment. It’s the only effective therapeutic methods. Since 1990s, it becomes the hotspot of international nuclear medicine research. “Neutron capture therapy” (NCT)is a new research field of modern cancer treatment, it has a very promising prospects.
